Spalding Amateur Dramatic & Operatic Society (SADOS) is a registered charity and the oldest such society in England.
SADOS promote the performance of live drama and music, especially amongst the young people in South Lincolnshire.
We pride ourselves on being an all inclusive society, with people from all walks of life. People join us for many reasons; to act, sing, help behind the scenes, or just for the social interaction and to escape their everyday lives. We welcome all ages, all races, all religions, all sexual orientations, all gender identities, all abilities and disabilities without exception. We believe in equality and diversity, and we look forward to bringing enjoyment to the local community.
Testimonials
I used to be part of the younger drama scene in Spalding when I was a child. It has felt like coming home joining SADOS. I have been included right from the sing through and have now got a large family to be part of. I have enjoyed every rehearsal, there is always laughter that leads to happy tears and I look forward to rehearsal days. I have been able to grow in confidence since joining SADOS and the support that is around you at rehearsals and outside of them is phenomenal, I’ve never known a group like it.

Being with SADOS I feel I have become part of one big happy family, we thoroughly enjoy the shows we put together and each individual person puts 100% in to making our shows stand out and create something different. With our current show ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ each cast and crew member has been able to express themselves in a new and comedic light, inspiring others to be themselves in ways they had not yet realised. It is a personal journey for everyone and we are all here to support and love one another.

Joining SADOS and this show has been an amazing opportunity for myself it has brought me back to doing what I love and that's performing rather than just teaching and choreographing. I have felt so welcome and I am loving every minute of this show it's like a second family here and I feel this is a show that will really captivate the people of spalding and create a great atmosphere to a wide audience of ages.

SADOS has been my rock during some really gruelling times over the past few years. In times of both physical and mental strain, SADOS has provided me some much needed support, understanding and a huge sense of release from day to day life. I’ve made so many life-long friends with whom there is never a dull moment! It’s the most amazing feeling being able to be part of something so special.

Sados is a truly wonderful charity who provide entertainment for the community as well as a fantastic route into live theatre for children and young people. With such a fantastic facility as the South Holland Centre to perform in, SADOS are in a great position for the future. I have had the pleasure to work with a wonderful group of adults and the special privilege of meeting with dozens of wonderful young people.
